- Giotto di Bondone, known simply as Giotto, was an Italian painter and architect from Florence
- Giotto was born around 1267 and died on January 8, 1337
- Giotto's life has many uncertainties. His birth date, birthplace, physical appearance, apprenticeship, the order in which he created his works, and his burial place are disputed
- Giotto's most famous works include the Arena Chapel in Padua and the bell tower of the Florence Cathedral
The Scrovegni Chapel
- Giotto's masterpiece is the decoration of the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua, also known as the Arena Chapel, completed around 1305
