General Studies GST 111 - Communication in English
- This course is a component of the General Studies programme, designed to develop essential language and study skills for effective university education.
- Modules A and B focus on receptive skills (reading, listening, summarization).
- Modules C and D focus on expressive skills (grammar, essay, letter and technical writing).
- Module E focuses on literary appreciation, especially African and Nigerian literature.
Course Objectives
- Students will be able to effectively listen to lectures and manage notes.
- Develop effective reading habits and vocabulary.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills in various social contexts.
- Develop adequate writing skills for academic purposes.
- Attain a level of competence in literary appreciation.
