Friendly Fractions

The simplest form of a fraction is when the numerator and denominator have no common factors other than 1.

To add fractions, you need to have a common denominator. Once you have a common denominator, you can add the numerators together and keep the denominator the same.

To subtract fractions, you also need to have a common denominator. Once you have a common denominator, you can subtract the numerators and keep the denominator the same.
