- The Formula Student Rules consist of two documents: Formula Student 2024 Rules and Formula Student AI 2024 Rules.
Concept Class
- Concept Class entries are focused on eventually providing an FS Class entry in a future competition year.
- Concept Class entries compete in static events only (Business Plan Presentation, Cost & Manufacturing, Engineering Design, and Lap Time Simulation).
- Teams must provide detailed understanding of their powertrain type choice in their conceptual design decisions.
Changelog
- The changelog lists changes made to the Formula Student 2024 Rules, including clarifications, revisions, and additions to various rules.### Revisions and Changes
- Reinstated conduction isolation for radiation isolation only (T4.6.2)
- Clarified minimum catch-can volume requirements for CV water coolant circuits (T7.2.6)
- Revised wording for equivalent imperial fasteners (T10.1.2/3)
- Added max voltage for LV hybrid motor controllers and inverters (T11.1.5)
- Added requirements for color of shutdown buttons and restriction for LV hybrid batteries (T11.4.7 and T11.7.8)
- Added requirement for demonstrating fire extinguisher purchase or servicing in the last 2 calendar years (T13.4.5)

Administrative Regulations
- The competition objective is to design, fabricate, and develop small, formula-style race cars (A1.1.1)
- There are three entry classes: FS Class, FS-AI Class, and Concept Class (A1.1.3)
- All vehicles must meet the requirements defined in Section T and Section CV, EV, or AFV (A1.2.2)
- The competition is divided into static and dynamic events (A1.2.4)
- The maximum achievable points for FS Class are listed in Table 1 (A1.2.5)
- The maximum achievable points for Concept Class are listed in Table 2 (A1.2.6)
Vehicle Eligibility
- Vehicles must be conceived, designed, and maintained by student team members without direct involvement from professionals (A2.1.1)
- A vehicle may only compete for one competition year (A2.2.1)
- A team may attend a competition with their vehicle as a "non-competitor" if they have officially withdrawn prior to the event (A2.2.2)
- To be classified as new, a vehicle must have a newly manufactured chassis with significant changes to its predecessor (A2.2.3)
Rules of Conduct
- The officials reserve the right to revise the schedule, date, and location of the competition (A3.1.1)
- All team members are required to cooperate with and follow all instructions from the officials (A3.1.2)
- Failure to follow an instruction or command will result in 25 penalty points being deducted (A3.2.1)

- All participants must sign the Motorsport UK liability waiver (A4.2.2)### Team Participation
- Each participant must register via their team member account prior to attending a live event, according to the Key Dates document.
- A team member can only be part of one team, work on one vehicle, and participate in static and dynamic events for only one team.
- Teams found violating this rule may receive a 25-point penalty.
Team Composition
- Each team must have one team member identified as the Team Captain, who is the main contact person for officials during registration and competition.
