- The word "communication" comes from the Latin word "communis" which means to share.
- Communication is the process of sharing information between two or more people
- It can be verbal (speaking) or non-verbal (signs, symbols, gestures, body language, and emotions).

- The communication process involves a sender (the source of information) and a receiver (the interpreter of information)
- The communication process should be:
- Correct: Meaning well-written and accurate.
- Complete: Meaning that important information is not left out
- Clear: Meaning communicated in a way that is easy to understand
###Â Elements of Communication
- Sender: Also called "encoder" - The person who originates the message
- Receiver: Also called "decoder" - The person who receives and interprets the message.
- Channel/Medium: The method used to transmit the message, such as:
- Speaking (oral)
- Writing (letters, emails, notes)
- Technology (online chat, video call, social media)
- Feedback: Actions, words, and nonverbal cues that show the receiver understood the message
