Flag Football Overview
- Flag football combines elements of American football and soccer.
- The objective is to score touchdowns by advancing the ball into the opponent's end zone.
Advancing the Ball
- The ball can be advanced down the field through running plays or passing plays.
- Teams have four attempts (or plays) to either cross the mid-field line or score a touchdown.
Game Progression
- If a team fails to advance past the mid-field line or score within four plays, possession of the ball is turned over to the opposing team.
- A touchdown is worth six points.
Scoring
- A touchdown occurs when the ball is carried or caught in the opponent's end zone by a player.
- After a touchdown is scored, teams typically kick an extra point or run a conversion play.
Starting the Play
- Each play starts with a snap from the line of scrimmage.
- For a touchdown to be valid, the player must be in control of the ball while in the end zone.
Receiver Positioning
- To score a touchdown, the receiver must be within the end zone area when they catch the ball.
