If an intoxicated person is conscious, they should be taken to a safe place and kept warm. If they are unconscious and breathing, they should be placed in a lateral position. If they are unconscious and not breathing, emergency medical services should be called and CPR should be started. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas that can accumulate in the blood and be toxic even at low levels. Symptoms of CO poisoning include fatigue, drowsiness, headache, weakness in the limbs, dizziness, vomiting, loss of consciousness, and death. If CO poisoning is suspected, all doors and windows should be opened immediately, emergency medical services and firefighters should be called, and any conscious persons should be helped to leave the area. If an unconscious person is breathing, they should be placed in a lateral position. If they are not breathing, CPR should be started.
