- First aid is an immediate and temporary care given to a person who suddenly gets ill or injured.
- It includes self-help and home care if medical assistance is not available or delayed.
Objective of First Aid (PPP)
- P stands for Prolong Life.
- P stands for Partially Lessen Suffering.
- P stands for Prevent Further Injuries.
Roles of First Aid
- First aid bridges the gap between the time of the accident and the arrival of a physician.
- It ends when medical assistance begins.
- First aid does not intend to compete with or take the place of the physician.
