Fire Station Living - Daily Duties Overview
- Policy aims to establish uniform standards for conducting daily checks and maintenance of fire station facilities.
- Shift Commander, Company Officers, and/or the senior firefighter are responsible for ensuring daily duties are completed.
Daily Equipment Checks
- Portable radio batteries for ambulances and unit 321 must be changed and charged daily.
- FLIR Thermal Camera should be checked and rotated every Saturday, irrespective of battery level.
- Pulse oximeter batteries are to be replaced on the first weekday of the month excluding holidays.
- Vehicle computers and Jetpacks need to be restarted daily.
Cleaning and Maintenance Tasks
- Apparatus floor, Medical Storage (Rm.118), and Medical Service (Rm.116) require sweeping, dusting, cobweb cleaning, mopping, and trashcan emptying as needed.
- Medical supplies must be stored properly at the end of daily activities.
