External Female Genital Organs (Vulva)
- The vulva consists of several structures, including the mons veneris, labia majora, labia minora, clitoris, vestibule, urethral orifice, vaginal orifice, and Bartholin's glands.
Mons Veneris (Mons Pubis)
- A pad of fat lying over the symphysis pubis
- Covered with pubic hair from puberty
Labia Majora (Greater Lips)
- Two folds of fat and tissue
- Covered with skin and pubic hair on the outer surface
- Arise in the mons veneris and merge into the perineum behind
Labia Minora (Lesser Lips)
- Two thin folds of skin lying between the labia majora
Clitoris
- A small, extremely sensitive, and highly vascular organ
- Plays a part in orgasm during sexual intercourse
Vestibule
- The area enclosed by the labia minora
- Contains the openings of the urethra and vagina
Urethral Orifice
- Lies 2.5 cm posterior to the clitoris
Vaginal Orifice (Introitus of the Vagina)
- Occupies the posterior two-thirds of the vestibule
- Partially closed by the hymen, a membrane that tears during sexual intercourse or childbirth
Bartholin's Glands
- Two small glands that open on either side of the vaginal orifice
- Secrete mucus to lubricate the vaginal opening
Blood Supply
- Derived from the internal and external pudendal arteries
- Drains through corresponding veins
Lymphatic Drainage
- Mainly via the inguinal glands

- Derived from branches of the pudendal nerve
