National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan (NDRRMP)
- Established under Republic Act No. 10121 (2010) to provide legal framework for disaster management in the Philippines.
- Four thematic areas:
- Disaster Prevention and Mitigation
- Disaster Preparedness
- Disaster Response
- Disaster Rehabilitation and Recovery
- Implemented by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) to ensure alignment with local and regional plans.
Thematic Area Goals
- NDRRMP aims for disaster-resilient communities by 2028 through 14 objectives, 24 outcomes, 56 outputs, and 93 activities.
- Focus on integration of disaster risk reduction (DRR) within national and local policies.
Disaster Prevention and Mitigation
- Aims to completely avoid adverse effects of disasters.
- Includes construction of protective infrastructure (dams/embankments) and regulatory measures on land use.
