About FCCLA

  • FCCLA stands for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.
  • It is a Career and Technical Student Organization that functions as an integral part of the Family and Consumer Sciences education curriculum and operates within the school system.
  • FCCLA members have been making a difference in families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues since 1945.

Career Pathways

  • FCCLA has four Career Pathways: Hospitality and Tourism, Visual Arts and Design, Education and Training, and Human Services.

Hospitality and Tourism Career Pathway

  • Members develop and refine skills for career success by exploring management, marketing, and operations of restaurants and other food services, lodging, attractions, recreation events, and travel-related services.

Visual Arts and Design Career Pathway

  • Members apply classroom knowledge and FCCLA skills through designing, producing, exhibiting, performing, writing, and publishing multimedia content including visual and performing arts and design, journalism, and entertainment services.

Education and Training Career Pathway

  • Members gain industry insight and hands-on experience needed to excel within the workplace through planning, managing, and providing education and training services and related learning support services.

Human Services Career Pathway

  • Members utilize skills obtained through FCS education and FCCLA experiences to support and provide family and human needs such as counseling and mental health services, family and community services, personal care, and consumer services.

Competitive Events and Scholarships

  • FCCLA offers 50+ Competitive Events designed to offer career preparation and exploration, service learning, and the opportunity to travel when competing at the local, state, and national level.
  • FCCLA offers numerous merit-based scholarships to help members pursue higher education plans and career goals, awarded annually at FCCLA's National Leadership Conference.
