Guidelines and Proposals
- FBLA guidelines contain overviews, eligibility criteria, and instructions for participation.

Objective Tests
- Individual event consisting of a 60-minute test at the National Leadership Conference.
- Non-graphing calculators are provided for all objective tests.
Production Tests
- One- or two-hour computer-based tests proctored at a designated school site prior to the National Leadership Conference.
Role Play Events
- Competitors receive a role play scenario 10 to 20 minutes before their event.
- Judges have access to the role play and suggested questions for participants.
Prejudged Events
- Individual, team, and chapter reports or projects are evaluated in advance of the conference, while presentations occur during the conference.
Interview Events
- Competitors participate in job interviews conducted by judges asking standard questions.
Speech Events
- Participants create and deliver speeches on FBLA-PBL goals, current events, or relevant business topics.
Presentation Events
- Individual or team projects are presented based on specific topics outlined in the event guidelines, which change annually.
Open Events
- These are online testing opportunities available to any FBLA member without prerequisites; the top winners are recognized during the awards ceremony.
Pilot Events
- A competitor in a pilot event can also enter another individual or team event, with top five winners acknowledged during the awards ceremony.
Eligibility for National Leadership Conference (NLC)
- Dues must be paid by March 1, and registration for the MLC must occur by the second Friday in May.
State Submission Limits
- Each state can submit four entries for objective events and three entries for performance events.
Competitor Limitations
- Each competitor can compete in only one event.

Event Restrictions

- Tie-breaking is determined by evaluating the last ten questions answered.
Scoring Components
- Objective production tests are graded based on production test scores.
- Combination of report/project and performance contributes to overall scoring.
Submission Deadlines
