Registering a Drone
- The FAA has updated its methodology for registering drones, and the URL is now more difficult to remember and explain: [access.faa.gov](http://access.faa.gov)
- To register a drone, log in to the FAA website and go to "Manage Device Inventory" and then "Add Device"
- When adding a device, select "Yes" for remote ID broadcast, and enter the drone's manufacturer (e.g. DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise) and serial number
- The serial number is located on the back of the drone, inside the battery bay
- Registration costs $5 and will be emailed to the user after payment
- The registration number must be displayed visibly on the drone, recommending placing it on top to avoid damage from wake turbulence

- After registering the drone, add it to an insurance inventory sheet to ensure coverage
- Skywatch is a recommended insurance provider, and attending the Flight Mastery course can earn an educational rate or discount
