    Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay (R D Banerji)

    • Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay, also known as R D Banerji, was born in Murshidabad district in Bengal in 1885
    • He completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in History from Calcutta University
    • R D Banerji joined the Archeological Survey of India in 1911
    • He played a key role in the discovery of the Indus Valley Civilization and was the first to excavate the Mohenjodaro site
