Study Notes
Left Screen Evaluation
- Left screen displays both 3D and SP images.
- Two sets of decision buttons: "threat" and "bag" decision soft keys
- Two tabs: 3D and SP
-
3D View Colors:
- Red: Explosive threat
- Yellow: Current explosive threat
- Green: Other explosive threat
- Blue: Metal explosive threat
- Purple: Metal objects
-
SP Tab Colors:
- Red: “current” threat border
- Yellow: “other” threat borders
- Orange: Dense objects
- Top Red Bar: Region of interest (ROI)
- Time Remaining: Time left to make a decision on the bag.
-
Slice Lines:
- Red: No threat present in the slice
- Green: Presence of potential threat in the slice
Right Screen Evaluation
- CT and Menu Tabs are found on the right monitor.
- CT Slice Image is a 2D representation of a slice within the 3D image.
- CT Slice Image is linked to a bounding box on the 3D screen.
-
Slice Number Color:
- Red: No threat found in the slice
- Green: Threat is found in the slice
-
Alarm Resolution Tools:
- Default: Threat, detonator, metal
- Invert is on by default.
- Information Zone: Displays threat, mass, density, CT value, and distance
- 3D Image Rotation: Rotates the CT image on the right screen.
- CT Value: Helps to determine the density of the threat and compare similar items.
- System Configurations Menu: Available within the MUX V-2 environment.
-
Control Interface (CI):
- Red: Error
- Green: Operational
- Light Blue: Standby
- Orange: Offline
- Dark Blue: Shutdown
- Yellow: Fault
- Grey: Ready to start
- CTX Error: Always notify supervisor first.
-
CI in MUX V-2 Environment:
- Messages Window (Upper Zone): Provides information about all systems on the network.
- Scanner Section (Lower Zone): Indicates the status of all CTX scanners on the network.
Alarm Resolution Protocol (ARP)
- Step 1: Determine if the threat is obvious
- Obvious Threat: Looks like a bomb, standard munitions, irrational placement, potential IED components
-
Not Obvious Threat:
-
Step 2: Determine if metal/detonator is within 1 cm of the threat mass.
- Within 1 cm: Notify LEO
-
Step 3: Determine if it is a shield alarm.
- Shield Alarm: Suspect only if other components of an IED are present.
-
Step 4: See if the external detailed structure of the threat is visible.
- Visible: Suspect the threat
-
Step 2: Determine if metal/detonator is within 1 cm of the threat mass.
- Priority: Threats are addressed in the order they are received by the CTX.
- Metal/Detonator Greater than 1 cm from Threat: Suspect
- Visible External Detailed Structure: Suspect
- After Deciding on a Threat: Determine if there are more threats in the bag.
