Respiration: Respiration involves cellular and organismal exchange of gases, allowing organisms to obtain oxygen and get rid of carbon dioxide. This process drives cell metabolism, providing energy needed for life activities such as building body tissues, breaking down food, fighting diseases, thinking, and growing. In humans, respiration takes place in lungs through the air we breathe, while plants carry out photosynthesis, absorbing sunlight, water, and nutrients from soil.

Circulation: Circulation involves blood flow throughout the body, delivering oxygen, nutrients, hormones, etc., via arteries; returning waste products via veins. Blood carries oxygen absorbed during breathing throughout our bodies, where it's used up by cells needing energy. Animal circulatory systems consist of heart(s), blood vessels, and blood.
