Types of Discrimination
- Four main types of discrimination: Direct Discrimination, Indirect Discrimination, Harassment, Victimization.
Direct Discrimination
- Involves less favorable treatment of an individual due to their protected characteristic.
Indirect Discrimination
- Occurs when a policy, criterion, or practice disproportionately disadvantages individuals with a protected characteristic compared to others.
- Must not achieve a legitimate aim in a proportionate manner.
Victimization
- Involves subjecting individuals to detriment for performing a protected act, like bringing legal proceedings under the Equality Act 2010 or providing evidence related to it.
Race Discrimination
