    • The scheme is for the First Degree Programme (CBCS System) for Semester III, 2013 admissions onwards.
    • It is common for Language Course VI (English IV) B.A, B.Sc: EN 1311.1 and Language Course V (English III) for Career related 2 (a): EN 1311.3.

    Exam Pattern

    • The examination consists of four types of questions.
    • The exam has a total of 80 marks and is to be completed in three hours.

    Question Types

    • Type I: Very short answer type (10 questions, 1 mark each)

    • Questions 1-5: test students' ability to spot grammatical errors

    • Questions 6-10: test students' knowledge of synonyms of common words

    • Type II: Short answers (8 questions out of 12, 2 marks each)

    • 10 questions on writing skills and 2 questions on presentation skills

    • Type III: Short essays or paragraphs (6 questions out of 9, 4 marks each)
