- GH indirectly mediates growth and protein synthesis by triggering the production of insulin-like growth factors (IGFs).
- Dysfunction of the endocrine system's control of growth can result in disorders such as gigantism, acromegaly, and pituitary dwarfism.
- Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) regulates the activity of the thyroid gland and is released from the anterior pituitary in response to thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) from the hypothalamus.
