    Safety Protocols

    • The safety of Emergency Medical Service (EMS) personnel is paramount to quality patient care.

    • Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be utilized according to WPFD Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG) and relevant protocols.

    • The paramedic should decide if Advanced Life Support (ALS) measures will be needed upon patient contact.
    • ALS interventions should be instituted simultaneously with the initial assessment.

    Critical Rhythms

    • Critical rhythms include: V-Fib, V-Tach, SVT, Asystole, 2nd Degree Type 2, 3rd Degree, Idioventricular, Agonal, ST Elevation MI, and ST Depression.
