Questions and Answers

Why do you think your research is relevant?

Our research is relevant because it addresses the growing issue of stray dog overpopulation and the risks they pose to public health and safety. Our research can also provide data that can help improve animal welfare programs and inform local policies not just in Brgy. Granada but also to our city, Bacolod City.

What are the methods that you will utilize for your research study?

We will use a quantitative method by analyzing veterinary records and collecting data on the dogs’ area of origin, health diagnoses, and demographics. Also, we will do field observations and surveys that can be conducted to support data on risk factors and population trends.

How and what are you going to do?

We will conduct on-site data collection through interviews with shelter staff and obtain veterinary records to assess the dogs’ health status, origin, and population trends. After that, we’ll analyze the data to identify patterns in disease prevalence and population dynamics. This information will help us identify risk factors and provide recommendations for better dog management and public health policies.

From who / where did you model your SOP after?

We modeled our SOP after previous research studies that are also related to animal population management and public health, particularly those focusing on stray dogs and community-based interventions. We also aligned it with local government protocols and ethical research guidelines to ensure accuracy and relevance of the study.
Signup and view all the answers

What are these diagnoses under the statement of the problem?

The diagnoses under the statement of the problem such as Health Risks from diseases due to insufficient vaccination and care, Overpopulation caused by uncontrolled breeding, the Public Safety Concerns like dog bites, rabies transmission, and traffic accidents, the Environmental and Waste Management challenges from dog waste and scavenging, and Limited Awareness and resources for responsible pet ownership, including lack of access to veterinary care and proper pet care education.
Signup and view all the answers

How about the demographics?

The demographics in our study refer to the characteristics of the rescued stray dogs, such as their age, sex, breed, and other relevant details. These factors help provide a clearer profile of the dogs in our study and can influence the risk factors and population dynamics we’re examining.
Signup and view all the answers
