- Line: The path of a moving point. Defines edges of shapes and forms.
- Examples: Broken, Wavy/Curly, Straight, Varied, Thick, Thin, Dotted, Zig-zag, Jagged, Diagonal, Tapered, Long, Short, Curved, Horizontal, Vertical, Perpendicular, Parallel
- Shape: 2-D, flat, when lines connect to itself.
- Examples: Large, Small, Geometric (sphere, cube, pyramid, circle, square, rectangle, oval, cylinder, trapezoid, diamond, star, pentagon, heart, semi-circle, hexagon, octagon, moon, organic/free-form, natural, leaf, cloud)
- Form: 3-D, height, width, and depth.
- Examples: Actual form - a work that you can see from all sides (sculpture).
- Color: Hue of an object when light is reflected off of it
- Primary Colors: red, yellow, blue
- Secondary Colors: orange, green, purple
- Warm Colors: orange, yellow, red
- Cool Colors: blue, green, purple
- Value: The lights and darks of a color within a work of art.
- Space: The area around a subject. Shown with size, overlap, and proportion.
- Texture: The way something feels or looks like it feels.
- Examples: Smooth, Rough, Hard, Soft, Woven, Bumpy/Lumpy, Jagged/Irregular, Ridged
