What is Art?
Art is one of the oldest and most important forms of human expression.
Art lives on because it is liked and enjoyed.
Art involves personal experience accompanied by emotion.
Zulueta (2006) stated that art is made by humans, no matter how close to nature.
Zulueta (2006) also stated that an artist's social, economic, political, cultural, geographic, scientific, and technical environment affects their creative expression.
"Ars" is a Latin word for skill.
Art is a product of man's need to express himself, not limited to emotions.
The artist's personal and social values are revealed through art.
Ferraro (2008) defined art as a man's way of expressing his/her ideas and feelings through creations in non-geographic expression.
Art can be any creation that appeals to a person's sense of beauty and serves a special need.
Art requires special skill from those who practice fine arts.

Art collectors consider the resale value and the pride of ownership.
Ideological Dimension
Ideological Dimension: artists express their feelings, political or ideological commentaries through their work.

Psychological Dimension
Psychological Dimension: the artist expresses the emotional condition or state of mind through a certain style.
Edward Munch's "The Scream" is an example of an artist expressing their state of mind.

Art creation involves the idea, the material, and the organizational form.
Idea
Before an artist starts creating, they should have a mental image of something that will be given form from a source.
Emotional ideas express joy, sadness, fear, or love.
Van Gouh's "Starry Night" is an example of a piece expressing emotional ideas.
Social or political ideas comment on issues like war, freedom, or justice.
Picasso's "Guernica" is an example of a piece that displays social or political ideas.

Natural Materials include: leaves, sand, stone, bones, and shells.
Organizational Form
Organizational Form is refers to shaping an idea with selected materials through careful design, combining it to create one organic whole.
