Basic Sentence Structure

• Verb-Subject-Object (VSO) word order is commonly used in Nepali sentences.
• However, the word order can be flexible depending on the context and emphasis.

Sentence Formation Rules

• A sentence typically begins with a verb (क्रिया), followed by the subject (कर्ता) and then the object (कर्म).
• The verb agrees with the subject in number (singular/plural) and person (first, second, or third).
• The object is usually marked with a case ending (e.g., -लाई, -ले) to indicate its grammatical function.

Types of Sentences

• Simple Sentences (साधारण वाक्य): One independent clause.
  • Example: मेरो नाम राम हो। (My name is Ram.)
• Compound Sentences (यौतुक वाक्य): Two or more independent clauses joined by a conjunction.
  • Example: मेरो नाम राम हो र मेरो उमेर २५ वर्ष हो। (My name is Ram and I am 25 years old.)
• Complex Sentences (जटिल वाक्य): One independent clause and one or more dependent clauses.
  • Example: जब मेरो नाम राम हो भने मेरो उमेर २५ वर्ष हो। (Since my name is Ram, I am 25 years old.)

Interrogative Sentences

• Yes/No Questions (हुन/नहुन सोध):
  • Formed by adding की or कि to the end of a sentence.
  • Example: तिमीले किताब पढ्दा हुन की? (Do you read books?)
• Wh-Questions (कुन सोध):
  • Formed by adding wh-words (कुन, के) to the beginning of a sentence.
  • Example: कुन किताब तिमीले पढ्दा हुन? (Which book do you read?)

Negative Sentences

• Formed by adding the negative particle न (na) to the verb.
• Example: मेरो नाम राम होइन। (My name is not Ram.)

नेपाली वाक्य निर्माण

मूल वाक्य संरचना

• नेपाली वाक्यमा Verb-Subject-Object (क्रिया-कर्ता-कर्म) क्रम प्रयोग हुन्छ, तर प्रसङ्ग रsenalisation anusar क्रम परिवर्तन हुनसक्छ।

वाक्य निर्माण नियम

• वाक्य सामान्यतया क्रियाबाट सुरु हुन्छ, त्यसपछि कर्ता र अंत्यमा कर्म हुन्छ।
• क्रिया र कर्ता बीचमा सङ्ख्या (एकवचन/बहुवचन) र व्यक्ति (पहिलो, दोस्रो, तेस्रो) मिल्ने गर्छ।
• कर्मलाई केस एन्डिङ (जस्तै -लाई, -ले) प्रयोग गरिन्छ कर्मलाई प्रसङ्गमा निरुपित गर्नका लागि।

वाक्य प्रकार

साधारण वाक्य

• एक स्वतन्त्र क्लाज भएको वाक्य।
• उदाहरण: मेरो नाम राम हो।

यौतुक वाक्य

• दुई वा περισσότε्र स्वतन्त्र क्लाज जोडिएका वाक्य।
• उदाहरण: मेरो नाम राम हो र मेरो उमेर २५ वर्ष हो।

जटिल वाक्य

• एक स्वतन्त्र क्लाज र एक वा περισσότε्र आश्रित क्लाज भएको वाक्य।
• उदाहरण: जब मेरो नाम राम हो भने मेरो उमेर २५ वर्ष हो।

प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य

हुन/नहुन सोध

• वाक्यको अंत्यमा की वा कि थपिन्छ।
• उदाहरण: तिमीले किताब पढ्दा हुन की?

कुन सोध

• कुन, के जस्ता प्रश्नवाचक शब्द थपिन्छ।
• उदाहरण: कुन किताब तिमीले पढ्दा हुन?

नकारात्मक वाक्य

• नकारात्मक क्रिया न (na) थपिन्छ।
• उदाहरण: मेरो नाम राम होइन।
