Comunidades Inclusivas

The "Comunidades Inclusivas" program, developed by International Partners, is a community-based initiative that aims to include children and youth marginalized by the combined influence of poverty, disability, and rurality. The program includes four integrated components:

Campaña de Sensibilización: Each village creates a local public awareness campaign for their community, emphasizing the capacities of those with disabilities, promoting social acceptance, and making residents aware that persons with disabilities have rights.
Círculos de Amigos: Each village forms circles of friends and neighbors to support individuals with disabilities and their families. This includes practical assistance, social contact, and support for participation in community activities.
Visitas Especiales: Specialist visits from professionals in areas such as physical therapy, visual impairment, hearing impairment, speech therapy, adaptive physical education, and special education. These specialists travel to communities for individual consultations, make home visits, and conduct individual assessments.
Materias y Actividades de Capacitación: The program provides training materials and activities focused on key evidence-based practices such as Universal Design for Learning, Positive Behavior Support, and Strategies for Alternative Communication.
