Ed 9: Assessment in Learning 1
- This course focuses on principles, development, and utilization of assessment tools to improve teaching and learning
- Emphasis is on the use of assessment of, as, and for learning
- Course allows pre-service teachers to go through standard steps in test development for application
- It also provides training in scoring, organizing, analyzing, interpreting and communicating assessment results
- This course aims to help pre-service teachers demonstrate a variety of thinking skills in planning assessing and evaluating learning
- Key outcomes include:
- Design conventional assessment tools to measure knowledge and other thinking skills
- Interpret assessment results and use these to improve teaching and learning
- Keep accurate and updated records of the learners’ performance using feasible and appropriate technology tools
- Provide timely feedback to the assessment of peers
