Ed 9: Assessment in Learning 1

  • This course focuses on principles, development, and utilization of assessment tools to improve teaching and learning
  • Emphasis is on the use of assessment of, as, and for learning
  • Course allows pre-service teachers to go through standard steps in test development for application
  • It also provides training in scoring, organizing, analyzing, interpreting and communicating assessment results
  • This course aims to help pre-service teachers demonstrate a variety of thinking skills in planning assessing and evaluating learning
  • Key outcomes include:
    • Design conventional assessment tools to measure knowledge and other thinking skills
    • Interpret assessment results and use these to improve teaching and learning
    • Keep accurate and updated records of the learners’ performance using feasible and appropriate technology tools
    • Provide timely feedback to the assessment of peers
