- It aims to increase citizen participation and involvement in governance systems. (Abdul Salam, 2013)
Definition of E-Governance
- UNESCO defines e-governance as the public sector's use of ICT to enhance service delivery, encourage citizen participation in decision-making, and promote accountability and transparency in government. (Codrin Teiu, 2011)
- E-governance applies ICT to improve government efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, and accountability in various transactional exchanges. (Yadav, 2009).This applies to interactions between government branches, agencies, citizens and businesses.
- E-governance uses ICT to assist democratic processes and interactions between the state, the private sector, civil society, and citizens. (Dawes, 2008).
- E-governance uses ICT to enhance relations with citizens, businesses, and other governmental arms by increasing efficiency and improving interactions. (Codrin Teiu, 2011)
