- Used to express present routine life

- Describes a procedure or process
- Used for stating general facts or universal truths.
- Affirmative form: S + V1 + O (subject + verb in base form + object)
- Negative form: Subject + don't/doesn't + verb in base form + object.
- Close-ended interrogative: Do/Does + subject + verb in base form + object?
- Open-ended interrogative: Wh/H word + do/does + subject + verb in base form + object?
- Interrogative with negative: (Formal) Do/Does + subject + not + verb in base form + object? OR (Colloquial) Don't/Doesn't + subject + verb in base form + object?
