Diversity and Inequality Quiz

Diversity means that each individual is unique having individual differences. These differences may be because of personal qualities, physical features, social or economic back ground or cultural factors. An example of diversity is people belonging to different religions living together in a community.

Inequality is a situation in which people do not have the resources and opportunities that are available to other persons. An example of inequality in diversity is the caste system in India, where people are divided into different groups depending upon the work that their parents did and they are supposed to remain in those groups.

The history of many places shows us how many different cultural influences have helped to shape life and culture here. Similarly, diversity also comes about when people adapt their lives to the geographical area in which they live. For example, living near the sea is quite different from living in a mountainous area. Hence, historical and geographical factors can influence the diversity of a region.
