- India is divided into four major geological divisions based on relief features:
- The Himalayan Mountain Range
- The Indo-Gangetic Plain
- The Deccan Plateau
- The Island Groups of Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar
The Himalayan Range
- The Himalayan range begins in the north of India from the Indus Valley in the west and ends in the Brahmaputra Valley in the east
- It stretches for over 2,500 km in length
