Basic Operations on the Desktop
- Highlight an icon by clicking directly on it, making it active for further actions.
- To deselect an icon, click anywhere outside it on the desktop area.
- For consecutive or adjacent icon selection:
- Click on the first icon in the desired range.
- Hold down the Shift key and click on the last icon, highlighting all icons in between.
- Release the Shift key to complete selection.
- For selecting non-contiguous icons:
- Press and hold the Control (Ctrl) key.
- Click on each icon individually to select multiple items without selecting those in between.
- Open an application by:
- Clicking on its icon and then pressing Enter.
- Alternatively, double-clicking the left mouse button on the application icon.
