Data Source Types
- Three types of data sources are explored: Access Database, MS Excel file, and Text file
Creating Connections to Data Sources
- Data can be uploaded from these three sources
Access Database as a Data Source
- Data source files are available on Moodle for download
- Files should be opened to view the structure
- Steps to connect to Access Database:
- Get Data From another source -> Access Database-> Connect
- Open the folder where the Access Database file is stored
- Select the file (e.g. Unit-3-Student Data File-01-Agile_Change.accdb)
- Open-> Select the file (e.g. Grades Agile)
- Click Load to view the data in the preview pane

- Click on the > before the file to open it
- The BI Screen may show symbols of summation before fields recognized as numbers that can be aggregated
- Field types can be changed by right-clicking
- Click on Data view to view the data
