Study Notes
Importance of Data Integrity
- Erroneous data can lead to significant operational inefficiencies and compromises in maintenance accuracy.
- Trending errors must be identified and addressed in briefings to enhance overall data reliability.
Maintenance Information System (MIS) Accuracy
- MIS must reflect accurate entries from AFTO Form 781-series forms.
- Regular audits should be conducted to ensure corrections are implemented where errors are identified.
Maintenance Action Review
- Background reports on all work performed by squadrons and work centers should be analyzed.
- Each report should be audited by Job Control Number (JCN) and Work Event Separator (WCE) to pinpoint potential errors.
Responsibilities for Error Correction
- Performing work center holds the responsibility for correcting identified errors.
- Incorrect use of general Work Unit Codes (WUCs) or Local Control Numbers (LCNs) instead of specific ones will be categorized as errors.
Use of Automated Processes
- Automated systems are permitted for tracking and reporting purposes related to data integrity.
Tracking Data Integrity Errors
- A systematic approach must be developed to track, measure, and report data integrity errors by work center, Aircraft Maintenance Unit (AMU), and squadron.
Training Programs
- Training initiatives should be designed to rectify identified data integrity trends and enhance overall documentation practices.
Data Integrity Team (DIT)
- DIT is led by MMA and engages all maintenance units to ensure data accuracy in the MIS and aircraft forms.
- Objectives include identifying documentation problems and their root causes for integrity issues.
DIT Composition and Responsibilities
- The DIT should include at least one representative from each squadron within the Maintenance Group (MXG).
- Participants may come from PS&D, MOC, DMS, EM, the Debrief Section, and QA as deemed necessary by MMA.
- DIT members must possess a minimum of a 5-skill level and knowledge of assigned weapon systems.
Frequency of DIT Meetings
- MAJCOMs determine the frequency of DIT meetings; for AFSOC, meetings occur at least monthly.
- Daily reviews of errors should be conducted from detailed sortie recaps (DRC) as part of the data integrity program.
DIT Functions
- DIT functions include ensuring complete and accurate data documentation and addressing any identified discrepancies promptly.
