Filing a Section 1608 Petition for Tariff Modification
- Any interested party, including domestic manufacturers, importers, exporters, customs brokers, and government agencies, can file a petition.
- The Tariff Commission (TC) conducts investigations and public hearings for petitions received.
- Findings and recommendations are submitted to the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).
- Final approval is granted by the NEDA Board, followed by the preparation of an implementing Executive Order by the TC.
Procedure for Filing a Section 1608 Petition
- Petitioners must accomplish TC Form 3 (Request for Tariff Modification), available on the TC website.
- The form can be downloaded from the TC website or obtained from the TC office.
