  • Botswana President: Duma Boko
  • WHO: Recognized a 17.7% decline in TB incidence in India from 2015 to 2022 (more than double the global decline of 8.3%)
  • TB: Tuberculosis. A bacterial infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Affects the lungs and spreads through air (coughing, sneezing).
  • BCG Vaccine: Bacillus Calmette-Guerin Vaccine
  • World TB Day: 24 March
  • National TB Elimination Programme: Aims to eliminate TB by 2025 (India)
  • World Challenge Initiative: By ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research). For finding solutions to difficult health problems and developing new health technologies.
  • Formation/HQ: ICMR formed in 1911. HQ in New Delhi
  • Aditya-L1 Mission Payload (VELC): Visible Emission Line Coronagraph Payload; launched on 2 Sept 2023, by PSLV-C57. Placed around Lagrange Point (L1) for scientific study of the sun
  • Uranium: Silvery-grey radioactive element. Australia holds the largest reserves globally. India produces ~2% of the world's uranium and ~70% of the country's reserves are in Jharkhand
