• Karpoori Thakur will be awarded Bharat Ratna (posthumously), the former Chief Minister of Bihar.
• 60 Parachute Field Hospitals of Uttar Pradesh have been selected for the Subhash Chandra Bose Disaster Management Award for the year 2024 for their excellent work in the field of disaster management.
• The documentary film ‘To Kill A Tiger’ has been nominated in the Best Documentary Feature Film category for the 96th Academy Awards (Oscar 2024).

• ISRO’s latest meteorological satellite, INSAT-3DS, was developed at the U R Rao Satellite Centre in Bengaluru for enhanced meteorological observations and monitoring of land and ocean surfaces for weather forecasting and disaster warning.
• Japan became the fifth country in history to reach the moon when one of its spacecrafts without astronauts successfully made a soft landing on the lunar surface.

• Gabriel Attal has been appointed as the new prime minister of France, becoming the youngest prime minister in the country’s history at 34 years old.
• The Government of India has decided to include Farsi (Persian) as one of the nine classical languages of India.
