    Study Notes

    Early Termination of Probation

    • Individuals suffering from serious physical and/or mental disabilities, such as deaf-mute, leprosy, crippled, bed-ridden, or similar conditions, are eligible for early termination.

    Good Behavior and Rehabilitation

    • Probationers who have shown consistent compliance with conditions, responded positively to rehabilitation programs, and demonstrated significant improvements in their social and economic life are eligible for early termination.
    • Other requirements for early termination include:
      • Absence of any derogatory record while under probation
      • Marked improvement in outlook, becoming socially aware and responsible members of the family and community
      • Significant growth in self-esteem, self-discipline, and self-fulfillment
    • The probationer must have served at least one-third of the imposed probation period, with a minimum of six months of actual supervision.

    Travel and Public Service

    • Probationers may be eligible for early termination if they need to:
      • Travel abroad for an approved overseas job contract, scholarship, observation tour, or study grant for at least six months
      • Take the Bar and Board Examinations
    • Probationers may also be eligible for early termination if they:
      • Hold a public office, either elected or appointed
    • However, probationers must have fully paid their civil liabilities, if any, and not been convicted of offenses involving moral turpitude.

    Termination of Probation
