An afternoon in the library

• Geronimo Stilton, editor of The Rodent's Gazette, was spending a pleasant afternoon in the New Mouse City Library with his nephew Benjamin.
• Benjamin was researching ancient Greece.
• Geronimo was reading documents on Gloomeria, the city of Creepella von Cacklefur, to help Creepella with a 754-volume encyclopedia about the ghosts of Gloomeria.
• Each volume was three thousand pages long
• The sun began to set and cast strange shadows on the library floor.
• Geronimo was reading a spooky book about ghosts, and shivered when he needed a break.
• Benjamin said, "The ancient Greeks were mouse-tastic!"

Fright night

• After discovering Benjamin was researching Theater the two talked excitedly about poets who would compete to see who was the best
• He was interrupted by a little gray mouse sitting at the table, reading the book ‘Stinky cheeses and the Rodents Who Love Them’
• He ignored her and went to grab the fright night contest before two beady eyes blinked at him over the book cover.
• It was bitewing, Creepella’s pet bat of the Von Cacklefur family saying, "Maaaaaaaahhhh!"
• Bitewing said he should not shout in the library and asked what he wanted
• He did not reply, so Bitewing handed him a notebook sent by Creepella saying it was her new book and to publish it now, with no excuses.
• He was trembling, and had to publish it even though it caused him nightmares.
• The experience had given him nightmares but it was his duty to share it with the fan
• It was called Fright Night
• After he left to publish the book , Creepella and her niece Shivereen cried when they heard of the urgent telegram for Boris Von Cacklefur
• Cary Speedpaws, the mailmouse rode up with a yellow letter and Creepella and Shivereen read it
• Bitewing said, "What is it?"
• She knew it was for her dad and he must be holed up in some place writing his poems, and rushed off to search for him.
• Shivereen guessed Boris was feeding his alligators because he says they give him inspiration and he loves to rhyme with them,
• They found him doing just that, feeding the alligators Chef Stewrat’s stinky stew
• Every time he made a stew, he made a rhyme.
• She read a telegram to Creepella saying she had arrived so Boris quietly read it, then cried as if he had been bitten by a Tarantula.

The fright night contest

• Boris shouted, "Rattle my bones!" because that means he was a finallist at the Fright Night Contest
• Creepella told him she did it for him, which made him gloomy at first but then excited
• Madame La Tomb said, "What is all this shouting about?"
• Snip and Snap said that it wasn’t their fault
• Howler, the canary living in La Tomb's hair, chirped, “Not this time!”
• Boris was gloomy at first
• Creepella asked him what was wrong so Boris told her that he loved to write poetry, but the last time was horrible.
• He says that a young ratling called Chester Cheater stole his poem from his desk in fourth grade; He was heartbroken, and never did a poetry contest
• Creepella insisted that his poems were too good so she entered him anyway, to which Boris agreed he did have some new poems he wanted to share
• Creepella said, "Then it's settled!" and they had to hurry to Horrorwood Studios and was to pick up Geronimo Stilton working on the Encyclopedia at Squeakspeare Mansion
• He held a telegram saying congratulatins, and was miserable because he was too busy working on the encyclopedia of ghosts to judge.
• There “are no excuses!” she said so she was going to write a fantastic article about the thing.

• The gloomy drapes would be filling the stage and fright night fans were beginning to move

• Professor Dubloon slapped him on the shoulder saying, “Cheese and Crackers! If it isn’t the most Famous writer there is!” Dubloon teaches Pirate History at the Academy of Arts and Shivers, and winked ar Creepella with his eye patch.
• Dubloon was just like his little Gerrykins, and answered Dubloon about his former teacher, Professor Cleverpaws, and a boring reporter from the Gloomeria Times.
• He then exclaimed that ears perked up "Sh-shivers Machine?" so Creepella pointed at it in the judges taable, tied to the seats, and looked like a purple casket
• It makes the ropes tremble as they get spooked, making the ropes tremble

The competition begin!

• The ropes light up from Putrid purple to fill moon white from slightly spooked to fainting from fright
• The winning poet is the one who can frighten the judges the most!
• When they get so scared they Shake so Geronimo turned as Pale as a slice of Mozzarella.
• He tried to run to the exit but to no success as he went a similar colour as the Shiver machine.
• Geronimo tried one more time but Professor Cleverpaws stopped her saying how nice it's to meet him before the competition is about to begin.
• Professor pushed Geronimo along the judge's table where Dubloon was already seated by a rodent who was ast asleep saying, "That's Evelyn Dozer, the Oldest reporter at The Gloomeria Times," so he politely answered and he replied lightly, "Ahem...she doesn't answer. She's been sleeping for more than 6 years."
• He took a seat and an assistant tied his tail to the rope, before Crystal Glamorosa, the host of the show , appeared with a bat dress
• She shouted, “hello Gloomeria" so the audience went wild.
• Four talented poets, which only two can make it, to earn a distinguished title of the Fright right idol.
• The crowd burst into thunder by applause and Shivers.
• All shivers must be caused by their Petrifying Poems.
• Crystal then pointed.
• Vera Versa is the first poet with a personality as thrilling as an earthworm
• From the Dark and mysterious cackle fur she announced the fantastic funeral director Boris Von Cacklefur.
• The third is "lyrica Sonnetail!" who is a teenager looking at life very gloomy

Round 1 The Rotten Rap
