Regular Verbs

Irregular Verbs

• Verbs that do not follow the -s rule for the third person singular (he, she, it)
• Examples:
  • be: I am, you are, we are, they are, he is, she is, it is

  • do: I do, you do, we do, they do, he does, she does, it does

Spelling Changes

• Verbs that end in -o, -ch, -sh, -ss, -x, or -z add -es in the third person singular (he, she, it)
• Examples:
  • go → goes
  • catch → catches
  • wish → wishes
  • kiss → kisses
  • mix → mixes
  • buzz → buzzes
• Verbs that end in a consonant + -y, change the -y to -ies in the third person singular (he, she, it)
• Examples:

Verbos Irregulares

• Verbos que no siguen la regla de -s para la tercera persona singular (él, ella, ello)
• Ejemplos:

  • tener: yo tengo, tú tienes, nosotros tenemos, ellos tienen, él tiene, ella tiene, ello tiene
  • hacer: yo hago, tú haces, nosotros hacemos, ellos hacen, él hace, ella hace, ello hace

Cambios de Ortografía

• Verbos que terminan en -o, -ch, -sh, -ss, -x, o -z agregan -es en la tercera persona singular (él, ella, ello)
• Ejemplos:
  • ir → va
  • atrapar → atrapa
  • desear → desea
  • besar → besa
  • mezclar → mezcla
  • zumbar → zumbe
