The depolarization wave is initiated by the sinoatrial (SA) node.
The wave then passes through the atrial myocardium.
The depolarization wave then spreads to the atrioventricular (AV) node, followed by atrial contraction.
The wave then passes rapidly through the AV bundle.
The wave continues on through the right and left bundle branches, and then to the Purkinje fibers in the ventricular walls, resulting in a contraction that ejects blood, leaving the heart.
