Data Storage Units
- A floppy disk can store 1.44 MB of data, which is equivalent to more than a million characters.
- A hard drive can hold 1 TB of data.
- One bit represents a single binary value (1 or 0).
- One byte consists of 8 bits and stores one ASCII character.
- 1 kilobyte (KB) equals 1,024 bytes.
- 1 megabyte (MB) equals 1,024 KB.
- 1 gigabyte (GB) equals 1,024 MB.
- 1 terabyte (TB) equals 1,024 GB.
- 1 petabyte (PB) equals 1,024 TB.

Processing Devices
- A processing device receives data, processes it, and outputs results.
- The Central Processing Unit (CPU), also known as the processor or microprocessor, is a key processing device.
- The CPU's primary components are the Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU), the Control Unit (CU), and the Memory Unit.
Motherboard
- The Motherboard, or Logic board on Apple computers, connects all computer components.
- It houses the CPU, RAM, BIOS, expansion slots, and back panel.
Expansion Slots
- These slots allow expansion cards to be added for new features.
Paragraph Formatting
- Borders and shading highlight paragraphs.
- Indents and tab stops improve paragraph clarity.
- The default tab stop moves the cursor ½ inch to the right, which can be customized.
- Tab stop types include left, center, right, decimal, bar, first line indent, and hanging indent.
Page Formatting
- Page size options include Letter (8.5" x 11") and A4 (8.27" x 11.60").
