Community Definition

- Communities can be geopolitical boundaries, such as a city or a barangay, or phenomenological, which are relational groups based on shared perspectives, like a cultural group or a school of thought.
Public Health Function
- The World Health Organization identifies nine essential public health functions: health situation monitoring, epidemiological surveillance, policy development, health systems management, public protection regulation, human resource planning, health promotion, quality assurance, and public health innovation.
Community Health Nursing (CHN)
- Community health nursing is the combination of nursing practice and public health practices, focused on promoting and preserving the well-being of entire populations.
- CHN aims to enhance the capacity of communities, families, and individuals to cope with health needs.
