- The Board for Professional Teachers adopted the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers, according to paragraph (e), Article 11, of R.A. No. 7836, also known as the Philippine Teachers Professionalization Act of 1994 and paragraph (a), section 6, P.D. No. 223, as amended.
- Licensed teachers must have high moral standards, technical expertise, and professional competence.

Article I: Scope and Limitations
- The Philippine Constitution mandates that all educational institutions provide quality education for competent teachers.
- The Code applies to all teachers in Philippine schools.
- The Code applies to all public and private school teachers in preschools and primary, elementary, and secondary schools.
- This covers academic, vocational, unique, technical, and non-formal disciplines.
- The term "teacher" encompasses industrial arts, vocational instructors, supervisors, and administrative personnel in schools at the aforementioned levels, whether full-time or part-time.
Article II: The Teacher and State
- Schools are the nurseries of the state's future citizens.
- Teachers are trustees of the nation's cultural and educational heritage.
- Teachers must transmit this heritage to students, elevate national morality, promote national pride, cultivate love of country, allegiance to the constitution and duly constituted authorities, and promote obedience to the laws.
- Every teacher or school official shall actively help carry out the declared policies of the state, and shall take an oath to this effect.
- Every teacher shall be physically, mentally, and morally fit for the State and Filipino people's interests.
- Every teacher must show full commitment and devotion.
- Teachers must not promote any political, religious, or partisan interests, either directly or indirectly.
- They also must not solicit, require, collect, or receive money, service, or valuable material for such purposes from any person or entity.
- Every teacher should vote and fulfill other constitutional duties and responsibilities.
- Teachers should not use their positions or official authority to coerce others into a specific political course.
- Teachers have academic freedom.
- Teachers shall have the privilege of expounding the product of their researches and investigations.
- If the results are inimical to State policy, they must be reported to the appropriate authorities for action.
