• To be a good citizen of the Philippines, one should have faith in divine Providence, which guides the destiny of men and nations
• Love your country, it is your primary duty to defend it, and be ready to sacrifice your life for your country if necessary
• Respect the Constitution, as it's the expression of your sovereign will
• Obey the laws and see that they are observed by all, including public officials
• Pay your taxes willingly and promptly; citizenship implies rights and obligations
• Safeguard the purity of suffrage and follow the decisions of the majority
• Love and respect your parents; it is your duty to serve them gratefully
• Value your honor as you value your life; poverty with honor is preferable to wealth and dishonor
• Be truthful and honest in thought and action; deal with others fairly, kindly and with dignity
• Lead a clean and frugal life, be simple in your dress, and modest in your behavior
• Live up to the noble traditions of your people by venerating the memory of heroes
• Be industrious; do not be ashamed of manual labor as productive toil contributes to economic security and national wealth
• Rely on your own efforts for your progress and happiness; persevere in pursuing your ambitions
• Work cheerfully, thoroughly, and well; work badly done is worse than work left undone, do not postpone what you can do today
• Contribute to the welfare of your community and promote social justice; you are part of society, and have responsibilities to it
• Cultivate the habit of patronizing goods made in the Philippines and support the products and trades of your countrymen
• Use and develop natural resources wisely and conserve them for future generations; they are the inalienable heritage of the people
• Do not traffic with your citizenship

Standards of Conduct of a Soldier

• A soldier should constantly strive to perfect their craft to achieve their mission
• A soldier must have full knowledge of their job, proficiency in training and combat, peacekeeping, and implementing development policies
• The military uniform represents the soldier's personality and the organization they belong to
• Soldiers should take extra care of their uniform and insignias as they set them apart from the rest
• A soldier must be a model of self-discipline and follow orders without question
• Soldiers must be professionals, committed with a strong sense of knowledge and skills, pay attention to their duties and show competence
• Soldiers are both citizens and military personnel, subject to the same laws, they must uphold their duty to serve the country
• When there is conflict, the higher, more demanding standard of conduct within the military is always prioritized
• Deference to authority is evident in the Chain of Command with the Non-Commissioned Officer playing a vital role in implementing orders
• Commanding Officers have a chain of command through which orders are issued and implemented
• Deference to civil authority is required as part of a soldier's responsibility
• Soldiers should be aware of the methods of the world and use their knowledge of human nature when confronted with unusual situations that may not have been covered in training
• Values are taught over time with perception and practice
• Self-reflection and guidance from daily life helps a soldier to apply the prior qualities and standards of conduct in their military life
