- Force causes an object to accelerate.
- The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on it and inversely proportional to its mass.
- This relationship is described by Newton's Second Law of Motion: F = ma, where F is the net force, m is the mass, and a is the acceleration.
Units of Force
- The unit of force in the International System of Units (SI) is the Newton (N).
- One Newton is defined as the force required to accelerate a 1 kg mass at 1 m/s².
