Chhattisgarh Geography
- Chhattisgarh has 5 divisions, 28 districts, 156 tehsils, 146 development blocks and 85 tribal development blocks
- The state has 20,126 villages
- Chhattisgarh has 18 border districts and 10 landlocked districts
- The largest border district is Rajnandgaon and the smallest is Garella-Pandra-Marwahi
- The largest landlocked district is Korba and the smallest is Durg
- The Hasdeo river takes water to the southern part of the plateaus and merges with the Mahanadi
- The Baghelkhand plateau is formed from Gondwana rock series and Archean rocks of the pre-cambrian era
- The upper Gondwana is found in the Balrampur, Surajpur and Koriya districts
- The lower Gondwana is found in the southern Koriya and southern Surajpur districts

Jashpur Pat Region
- The Jashpur Pat region is situated in the north-east of Chhattisgarh and is the highest and smallest natural division of the state

- The Jashpur Pat is a part of the Chhota Nagpur Plateau, which has an area of 65,509 km² and mainly extends across Jharkhand with small regions in Odisha, Bihar and Chhattisgarh.
- The Chhota Nagpur Plateau’s area is 22°18’ to 23°40’ N Latitude, 83°2’ to 84°20’ East Longitude
- The Jashpur Pat is approximately 700-1,000 meters high and slopes towards the east-south
- The Jashpur Pat is surrounded by the Chhota Nagpur Plateau from the east, the Baghelkhand plateau from the west and the Mahanadi basin from the South-West of Chhattisgarh
