Chapter VI: Single Line Working by Electrical Speaking Instruments

- Authority to proceed: A "Line Clear Ticket" is required for any engine/train entering a block section.
- Exception: This rule doesn't apply when assisting disabled trains or during total communication interruption.
- Supplementing Line Clear Tickets: Caution orders (Form T/409) may be used to provide additional instructions regarding road conditions or cautious driving.
Line Clear Enquiry Message Books
- Used for recording line clear inquiries.
- Consist of progressively numbered pages (50 pages).
Line Clear Enquiry Messages (Outward/Inward)
- Standard form T/A 1425 or T/B 1425 used for obtaining line clear status.
Conditional Line Clear Ticket
- Red form with upward-pointing arrow on a watermarked form (T/G 602).
- Issued by Station Masters after noting the last train's departure time and details of the next 3 trains.
- Includes instructions to drivers to maintain speeds of 25 KMPH or below, or 10 KMPH or below in reduced visibility.

Private Numbers Sheet
- Provided in groups of five.
- Used for Up and Down trains (both main and branch lines) and for all private number uses.
- Recorded in order they are made along with the purpose.
Same Private Number Appearing Consecutively
