- Advertisement: Any audio or visual publicity, representation, endorsement, or pronouncement made through various media (light, sound, print, electronic, internet, website, etc.) and includes notices, circulars, labels, wrappers, invoices, etc.
- Complainant: A consumer, voluntary consumer association (registered), Central/State Government, Central Authority, multiple consumers with shared interests, legal heirs/representatives of a deceased consumer, or a guardian of a minor consumer.
- Complaint: A written allegation by a consumer claiming relief under the Act, alleging unfair contracts, unfair/restrictive trade practices, goods/service defects, excess pricing (fixed/displayed/agreed), or hazardous goods offered for sale.
