Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) is a surveillance system used to monitor and secure public and private spaces.
CCTV systems typically consist of cameras, monitors, and recording devices.

IP cameras are digital cameras that transmit video signals over a network using Internet Protocol (IP).
Advantages:
- Higher resolution and image quality compared to analog cameras
- Easier to install and maintain
- Can be accessed remotely using a computer or mobile device
- Can be integrated with other systems, such as access control and video analytics
Types of IP cameras:
- Wired IP cameras: connected to a network using a physical cable
- Wireless IP cameras: connected to a network using Wi-Fi or other wireless technologies
- PoE (Power over Ethernet) IP cameras: receive power and transmit data over a single cable

Access control systems are used to regulate and monitor who can enter or exit a specific area or building.
Components:
- Readers: devices that read and verify identification credentials (e.g. cards, biometric data)
- Controllers: devices that control access to a door or gate
- Locks: devices that physically restrict access to a door or gate
Types of access control systems:
- Card-based systems: use cards or fobs to grant access
- Biometric systems: use unique physical or behavioral characteristics (e.g. fingerprints, facial recognition) to grant access
- Keypad systems: use numerical codes to grant access

Video analytics is the process of analyzing video footage to extract useful information or insights.
Applications:
- Object detection: detecting and tracking objects, such as people or vehicles
- Motion detection: detecting movement within a specific area
- Facial recognition: identifying individuals based on their facial features
- License plate recognition: identifying license plates on vehicles
